If you're spending a lot of money going to Qatar for the World Cup, you will find yourself saving some with the inability to buy alcoholic beverages at the games. Whether that's worth it or not is up for debate.

FIFA said in a statement: "Following discussions between host country authorities and FIFA, a decision has been made to focus the sale of alcoholic beverages on the FIFA Fan Festival, other fan destinations and licensed venues, removing the sales points of beer from Qatar's FIFA World Cup 2022 stadium perimeters."

You can only purchase alcohol at the official fan zones and beer sales at the matches have been a controversial topic this past month. Originally, Budweiser was going to be allowed to sell beer at stadiums but in the days leading up to the first kick off, FIFA has decided to ban alcoholic beverages. The only thing available will be Bud Zero, yuck.

Although they are trying to provide a "respectful and enjoyable environment" for all fans, is this going too far? With respect to Qatar and its community, alcohol and sports go together like peanut butter and jelly.
