Montana was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame. He became the team's full-time starter in his third season and led them to a Super Bowl XVI victory. Over 13 seasons with the 49ers, he won four Super Bowl titles, earned three Super Bowl MVP awards, two NFL MVP awards, and seven Pro Bowl selections.
