When does 2026-27 Topps Basketball release?

2026-27 Topps Basketball is scheduled for November 5, 2026. Like most releases, the date can slide by a few days, and pre-sell orders ship on or shortly after the product arrives. See every upcoming date on our sports card release calendar.

What comes in a Hobby box?

Each Hobby box contains 20 packs with 12 cards per pack and averages one autograph or relic card per box. Hobby is also where the exclusives live: Player Number Variations, Victory parallels, and the 1981-82 Topps Basketball design cards, which are exclusive to Hobby and Jumbo.

Which 2026-27 Topps Basketball rookies should you chase?

This is the release where the new draft class gets its first official Topps rookie cards, which is why flagship basketball draws so much attention every year. The headline rookies are:

• AJ Dybantsa
• Darryn Peterson
• Cameron Boozer
• Caleb Wilson
• Keaton Wagler

In our experience, the top two or three picks drive most of the early demand, so expect Dybantsa, Peterson and Boozer rookies and rookie autographs to set the market. Flagship Real One Rookie Autographs, Rookie Pathway Signatures and Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs are the autograph sets rookie chasers will want to know.

2026-27 Topps Basketball parallels

The base set has two parallel tracks. Paper parallels include Gold /2026, Black /75, Wood /25, First Card 1/1 and FoilFractor 1/1. The Rainbow Foilboard track runs Yellow /399, Purple /250, Blue /150, Green /99, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10 and Red /5. New this year is a Clear Variation numbered to 10.

Base variations include Golden Mirror I, II and III, Team Color Border Variations, and the Hobby-exclusive Player Number Variation.

Inserts and case hits

Case hits are the big chase: All Kings (including Gold 1/1), Class of 26 (Red /5 and FoilFractor 1/1), Hardwood Stars, Bounce, Comic Court and Quest for the Crown. Regular inserts include Stars of the NBA, Drivers, Poster Factory, No Limit, Rookie Code, Generation Now and Game Script. Short prints such as The Daily Dribble, Levitation and New School add more to hunt for.

How should you approach 2026-27 Topps Basketball?

• Hobby and Jumbo are the formats for rookie autographs and the 1981-82 design cards.
• A full case is the only realistic way to chase case hits like All Kings and Class of 26.
• Decide which rookies you want to hold before release-day hype sets prices.
• Low-numbered Rainbow parallels and rookie autographs of the top picks are where value has historically concentrated.
