2026 Topps Chrome Football Set Guide: Release Date, Checklist Notes and What to Chase

2026 Topps Chrome Football is the main chromium NFL product of the 2026 season and the set most collectors will use as the reference rookie card for the 2026 draft class. This guide covers the release date, box configurations, what is on the checklist and how we would approach buying it. Everything below is from published checklists and release calendars as of October 18, 2026; the checklist itself is marked subject to change by Topps.

Release date

Topps has set November 13, 2026 for the First Day Issue (FDI) product. Standard hobby pre-sales were expected to open October 19, 2026 at 1 p.m. ET, with hobby and jumbo cases sold through EQL and hanger, value and mega boxes sold directly by Topps. One checklist tracker still lists the standard hobby street date as TBA, while Beckett's calendar lists hobby, jumbo and FDI together on November 13. We are treating November 13 as the working date for all formats and will update this page if Topps splits them.

Configuration

• Hobby box: 20 packs, 4 cards per pack, 1 autograph per box.
• First Day Issue Jumbo box: 12 packs, 11 cards per pack. Each box carries 1 FDI Molten Mercury autograph, 2 additional autographs, 2 FDI Molten Mercury parallels and 2 additional parallels.
• Retail: Hanger, value and mega boxes are listed. Pack and card counts for retail had not been published as of this writing.

Hobby boxes are the format most breakers use; FDI Jumbo is the format with guaranteed low-numbered content and the highest box price.

Checklist notes

The base set is 400 cards: veterans at #1–300 and rookies at #301–400. That is a larger rookie run than many Chrome years and means a lot of the base checklist is draft-class content.

Rookies named on the preliminary checklist include Jeremiyah Love, Carson Beck, Fernando Mendoza, Jordyn Tyson, Arvell Reese, Makai Lemon, Carnell Tate and Sonny Styles. Which of these ends up as the top rookie will depend on the 2026 season, so we would not treat any single name as a lock at this stage.

Base variations run across the full 400 cards in two forms, Lightboard Logo and Team Camo, plus smaller sets of Image Variations (50 cards), Chrome Etch Variations (50) and Award Winners Variations (5).

Insert lines include returning chases Helix, Radiation Rookies and Ultra Violet, NFL-specific lines Game Genies, Kaiju and Tecmo, and three new lines: Glass Canvas, Madden 99 Club and Super Bowl at Night. A Tom Brady "Minions" card has been shown but was not on the initial checklist, so its location in the product is unconfirmed.

Autographs

Autograph sets on the published checklist include Base Variation Autographs (79 cards), Rookie Variation Autographs (92), Chrome Legends (48), Hall of Chrome (25), Retail Rookie Autographs (43), Future Stars (18), Dual Autographs (15), Tecmo (13), 1991 Topps Autographs (22), Chromographs (24), Class of 26 (5) and Ring of Honor (5). Gold Shield Autographs are listed at 5 cards but only one entry had been published. Confirmed autograph parallels so far are Green Refractor /99, Purple Refractor /75 and Red Refractor /5, with more expected.

Parallel structure

Topps had not published the full refractor parallel list for 2026 as of October 18. Refractor parallels are expected across base and inserts, and FDI boxes carry the exclusive Molten Mercury parallels in low print runs, but numbering for most parallels is still listed as TBA. We will add print runs once Topps confirms them. Until then, do not rely on prior-year numbering, because the parallel set has changed from year to year.

Rip or hold

Chrome Football is a product that moves on rookie performance. The 2026 rookie class is still playing its first season when this product releases, so prices for individual rookie autographs will swing week to week through the playoffs. If you are buying for a specific player, singles after release week are usually the more predictable route. If you are buying sealed, hobby boxes have held value better than retail in prior years because of the guaranteed autograph. FDI Jumbo boxes carry a premium that is tied to the Molten Mercury parallels; whether that premium holds depends on secondary-market demand for those parallels, which is not known yet for 2026.

We do not recommend opening FDI product unless you are breaking it for a group. For hobby, waiting for the second or third wave often brings box prices down if the rookie class underperforms, but a strong class can push prices up instead. There is no reliable way to call that in advance.

Where to buy

We list 2026 Topps Chrome Football in the 2026 Topps Chrome Football collection. Prior years are in the Topps Chrome Football collection. If a format you want is not listed yet, check pre-sells in stock, which updates as allocations are confirmed.
